I am super happy that I won the Sunset Lakes tennis tournament yesterday (Saturday). There were many challenges I had to face to win. Until May this year, my tennis was not that great, nor was my diet too.
Last year I had high cholesterol and triglycerides in my blood work, and I was overweight despite playing tennis 4-5 times a week. Thankfully, I met my coach Luis, who helped me transform into a better player. I’ve trained hard and had a consistent diet for the last 3 months.

For training, I had to wake up at 6 a.m. and meet my coach for tennis practice, and he has been improving my fitness as well. I was dying to participate in tournaments, but my coach said I was not ready yet. I trained more and more and was finally able to play a tournament this weekend.
I woke up early anxious and excited to play. I started stretching at home. My friend Heath was there supporting me and watching me play, as well as my parents, Grandma Lois and Mike. Later in the day, Coach Luis showed up too.
The first person I played was Liv Friedland. I beat her 4-0 4-0. She made a lot of mistakes on her serves and there were many unforced errors on her part. The second person I played was my friend Diego. He has said he could win against me several times when he has not even beaten me a single time this year. I ended up beating him 4-2 4-1. But it was a difficult match, there was a deuce shenanigan, going back and forth until I finally won the game and the match and moved on to the finals to play against Victoria Pineres. She was a sophomore girl, bigger than me with a lot of attitude and she looked intimidating.
I beat her 4-1 4-1. She had big serves and a lot of power but she made lots of unforced errors though. Finally, I won the tournament and I was beyond happy, dropped my racket on the court in disbelief because this was the first time I won a tournament.
Having my family, my friends, and my coach supporting me made my day.

All in all, I am very proud of what I accomplished and did this week. I even got my tennis ball signed by Sebastian Yatra earlier this week. I hope you had a great week as I did!
Bye for now, till the next tournament, and will keep you posted on my fitness progress.
